Took my new strap for a test run today and overall, I really enjoyed it. The drawback for me is that the mechanism that you screw in the bottom won’t let me open up my camera to access my battery and sd card. Therefor, I will need to unscrew it every time I need to switch one of them out. We’ll see how that plays out on my upcoming trip.
The strap works well, just as advertised. The strap could be longer, but otherwise it is very well made and comfortable to use.
The G2 version allows you to wear it over either shoulder, an improvement over the original. The mounting clip screws into the tripod socket but designed to point towards the right side of the camera. I found this to be uncomfortable as it caused the strap to press against my face. I swung the connector around towards the left and this worked much better but made the secondary connecting strap a little awkward to connect but ok once it was done.
Hello Steve, Thank you for taking a moment to share your experience. We're glad that the G2 is performing for you. We wish you good shooting and safe travels!
I have had this connected to my Canon camera for years. I taken it on 3 hot summer European vacations. I wore my camera with a heavy lens throughout the day on all trips. I bought this for the security but love it for the comfort. The shoulder strap is extremely comfortable compared to the traditional straps that go behind the neck. I could not recommend more.
Thanks for the review, Jason! We're glad we could provide you a sense of security during your vacation and wish you many more happy vacations in the future :)
