Liliana Galo recently took the trip of a lifetime to South America after she won the very first Pacsafe Be More competition. She went dancing on the streets of Montevideo, visited a turtle reserve in the Galapagos Islands and rediscovered her Latin roots by visiting long lost family. During the trip, the Pacsafe crew who traveled with Liliana were inspired by her adventurous approach to life. She really took the bull by the horns and made the most of every second. We recently caught up with Liliana to find out how to develop an adventurous mindset and asked for a few tips for others looking to enter the Be More competition next time around.

Here is some great insight, with Liliana Galo…

Did you prepare yourself to behave a certain way on this trip, or was that just you being you?

I definitely feel like I was being an enhanced version of myself. I’m usually already adventurous and outspoken but the fact that people had enough confidence in me to choose me as the winner, made me feel more confident in myself and pushed me to be more even adventurous for them as they followed my journey.

What are your top 3 tips for embracing new adventures to Do More, Be More and See More?

Be Positive, Be Open-Minded, and remember your purpose. I believe in traveling with a purpose in order to get the most out of a trip, even if it’s a small goal or reason. Remembering that purpose throughout the trip will give you energy and courage you didn’t even know you had to take on new adventures!

How could you apply these tips to your everyday life as well?

I think that these tips could apply to everyday life because living life with goals and an open mind could help you feel more fulfilled in the long term.
Being grateful and conscious of small victories you’ve had throughout the day (whether or not you’re having adventures on an international trip) is extremely helpful in Doing More, Being More, and Seeing More

Do you have any advice for people wanting to enter this competition next year? Both for their submission and if they happen to win?

For Video Submission, the first step is to apply! Apply no matter what because you never know if you’ll be the next winner. Don’t be discouraged or intimated by other submissions. Have faith in the work you put into your video and hopefully it will resonate with others.
Also, your story matters. Figure out what story you want to tell and what it means to you. Once you do that, the submission video becomes easier to design.
During your trip, keep a travel journal to write down your feelings and observations throughout the trip. It’s great to look back on in the future. Remember your purpose and be sure to fulfill it during your trip.
A final note to the next winner: I’m already sending you love and good vibes. This life-changing trip is waiting for you to help you discover a new side of yourself. Now all that’s left to do is apply and start the journey
